FAQ
What is Reformer Pilates?
Reformer Pilates is a form of Pilates that uses a machine called a reformer to provide resistance for strengthening, stretching, and aligning the body. It’s designed to enhance flexibility, posture, and core strength while offering a low-impact, full-body workout.

Is Reformer Pilates suitable for beginners?
Yes! Reformer Pilates can be adjusted for all fitness levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners. Please book onto once of our 'Reformer Basics' classes if you have not done reformer Pilates before.

What should I wear to a Reformer?
We recommend wearing comfortable gym wear to class. Grip socks must be worn in class, we sell these in the studio.
How often should I do Reformer Pilates?
For best results, we recommend attending classes 1-4 times per week. However, consistency is key, so feel free to start with a schedule that works best for you and gradually increase your frequency as you build strength and endurance.
Do I need to bring my own equipment?
No, we provide all the necessary equipment, including the reformer machines, straps, and any additional props like resistance bands or weights. You only need to bring water and grip socks (available for purchase if needed).
Can Reformer Pilates help with injury recovery?
Yes, Reformer Pilates is often recommended for injury rehabilitation due to its low-impact nature and focus on controlled movement. However, if you are recovering from an injury, we recommend consulting your healthcare provider and informing your instructor before class.
What is the difference between Mat Pilates and Reformer Pilates?
Mat Pilates is performed on the floor using body weight for resistance, while Reformer Pilates uses a specialized machine called the reformer, which adds resistance through springs and pulleys. The reformer allows for a greater range of exercises and provides support and resistance that can enhance your workout.
